Reason 60...
Your faith in God.
While I may not have the same opinions as my wife when it comes to God (even though we're both Catholics), I do have faith. I think any strong man, head of a family, needs to show his family that he has faith in God and the morals that derive from that faith. I love that my wife has that faith too. It makes loving her that much easier.
Reason 66...
Your laugh.
We like to have fun in this house. Usually it involves tons of laughing. I'm usually the one making the kids or my wife laugh. My wife may like my laugh, but I love hearing her laugh...little snorty, high pitched. I love everything about it. And when she's laughing, she's happy. That's the best part.
Reason 111...
For being a great husband.
She's struggling. So I'm passing on this one. I do my best. I love my wife for being a good wife. And for loving me when I'm NOT a good husband too.
Reason 240...
How you teach me new words.
I'm a grammar and vocab type of guy. It stems from my (our) Catholic education where grammar and English was a huge deal. I've never had a need to diagram a sentence since grade school but I can still do it now. It laid the foundation for my love of vocab. I don't so much teach my wife new words as I teach her the correct usage of the ones she already knows, hahaha. I love that my wife truly is smart enough to use "big words"...after all she had Mrs. Moritz too!
Reason 46...
You will make me smile if I am crying.
I don't like seeing my wife cry, for just about any reason. And while it may not be totally appropriate all of the time, the best way I know how to help is to try to make her laugh or smile. I love that my wife actually smiles when she's upset enough to be crying.
Reason 331...
We were so hott before kids via email.
Ha! In a long distance relationship you have to make due. I love that we did naughty things too. My wife was definitely a bad girl!!
For our first anniversary, my wife wrote 365 Reasons why she loves me, each on a different piece of paper and put them in a jar for me to read one by one. So, for our second anniversary I'm going to give her this blog, with a picture of each reason, and why I feel the same way about her.

Reason 224, 95, 107, 53, 116, 253
Reason 224...
For letting me be me.
I want my wife to be how she feels. I'd love for my wife to be as goofy as I know she can be. I try hard not to judge or laugh when she's being herself because that's when she's the best. I love that she lets me see her real self, in all of its beauty.
Reason 95...
You give me strength when I am weak.
As I make my way through these reasons common themes crop up. One such theme is being there for each other. Being partners. Supporting one another. This is just another reason reflecting that. If my wife remembers me for anything, I want it to be that I was a good father and that I was always there for her. Because she's always there for me. And I love her for it.
Reason 107...
The way we joke about things.
Laughter is the best medicine. As cliche as that is, I can't think of any other way to say it. I couldn't make my way through a day without joking around. When I need to be, I'm a kid at heart...it's my favorite time. What I love about my wife is that even though she's reserved, she can be a kid just like me.
Reason 53...
The way you hug me.
I like hugging my wife. She's a good hug. I like naked hugging my wife too! Give me a hug!
Reason 116...
How similar we are.
Didn't I just read a reason about how different we are? Opposites attract, surely, but somethings need to be on common ground. My wife and I have a lot of common ground in many different areas. That's what makes our relationship so great.
Reason 253...
I know we will grow old together.
I think I'm something like halfway through these reasons and I'm finding more and more that I'm repeating myself. I'm starting to think my wife doesn't actually have 365 things she loves about me, LOL. But what it does show is that she loves me very much. All of these reasons point to this...we ARE going to grow old together. And I can't wait.

Reason 286, 136, 358, 97, 333, 184
Reason 286...
Everything about you makes you the best husband in the world.
Shouldn't this be reason 365? I love my wife for trying so hard she had to get creative!
Reason 136...
You are creative.
One common fallacy about engineers is that they're not creative in an artsy way. Well, I don't think that's too accurate. I'm pretty damn creative! I like that my wife notices it too. But I'll tell you what, she's the creative one. I've never seen a woman sit down and bead like my wife, make all her own wedding accoutrements and have it all come out so beautiful. I love that she poured so much of herself into those things and was so creative about it. It was amazing.
Reason 358...
You're blunt.
This may be a dig rather than a reason! We've covered this a few times. Honest Jon is the one who is blunt. I find it most refreshing getting my point across in the fastest and most precise way as possible. I love that my wife handles my bluntness so well. I certainly wouldn't be able to deal with me.
Reason 97...
You always make time for the kids.
The first thing I usually do when I get home is play with my kids. Pick my son up, kiss my daughter. They're the light of my life. Every moment I get to spend with them is the best time of my life. Whether it's frustratingly trying to help my daughter with her math or running after my son, each moment is special. I love my wife for giving me my children, the greatest gift I've ever received.
Reason 333...
I know I'm beautiful because of you.
As I've said before, my wife doesn't have the highest self-esteem. I try my best to build her up and make her understand that she's freaking awesome. I love that she trusts me enough to accept my compliments as honest and genuine. It shows me that she has a high level of trust in me and respects what I think of her. She IS beautiful. In every single way.
Reason 184...
Our Honeymoon.
Man, our honeymoon was the best vacation I ever took. The absolute best. I got to spend a full week with my wife, alone, in an awesome city having the time of our lives. I will always remember and cherish it. Always. I couldn't have asked for a better person to spend it with too. Man was it freaking awesome!

Reason 70, 1, 74, 27
Reason 70...
I can't wait to grow old with you.
I often find myself thinking about what our life will be like when we're old. When the kids are all moved out and we have time to ourselves to be with each other and spend time as husband and wife. We don't often have to opportunity to do that since we already had our daughter when we met. And now that our son is here, we have even more time. But for as much as I daydream about being old with my wife, I live in the now with my family. I wouldn't change it for anything.
Reason 1...
Our family.
Finally, reason 1! And it couldn't be better. This is my favorite thing in the world. A family with the girl of my dreams. I don't know of any other thing I'd rather be doing than spending time with my family. And frankly, my wife is a big part of that. She's truly my other half and I'd be lost without her. And truly a void without my family.
Reason 74...
Your achievements.
I'm not going to talk about my achievements. The one thing I'm most proud of is my family. And one thing in particular stands out tall in the crowd: marrying my wife. So far, that's right up there with my son and daughter.
Reason 27...
How we work together.
When we first met the priest for our classes before marriage, he asked us both what we loved most about the other. I don't remember what my wife said but I remember exactly what I said. "She's my partner." We had a laugh about it because it maybe wasn't the best thing I could have said. However, it is true. My wife is my partner. It's the best thing about her. The fact that she gives herself to me for the better of our family and our marriage is her greatest attribute. That she's selfless with our relationship. And I can only strive to do the same. She's my partner.

Reason 77, 115, 59, 283
Reason 77...
Our life.
We do have a good life. We have love, family, a great house and land, things we want. But most of all we have each other, all the time. I wouldn't want to spend my time with anyone else.
Reason 115...
How different we are.
For as compatible as we are, we really are different. My wife is anxious, I'm anything but. She's overly sensitive to risk, I hand off a motorcycle going over 100 miles and hour. If there is a better poster-relationship for opposites attract, it's us!
Reason 59...
How caring you are.
I think this is the same thing as "Your kind soul." Actually I know it is, lol. My wife makes me a better person. She makes me care about many more things than I would have had I not met her. And I love her for that.
Reason 283...
Your wisdom.
If I can do anything for my family I hope that it's the right thing to do. That's one of the scarier things about being a husband and a dad. Always worrying if what you're doing is the right thing to do. If it will ultimately benefit your family. I'm not nearly as wise as my wife may think I am. But I love her for having faith in me, for trusting in my wisdom.

Reason 39, 276, 280, 264
Reason 39...
How you love my imperfections.
As I go through these I'm seeing more and more doubles and triples. Reasons worded differently but meaning the same things. I'm finding that my wife holds certain things in high regard and I'm becoming more intimate with her through these. Amazing as it is, this is helping me know my wife more than any conversation. I love that she did this for me and I hope I can make it through all of these reasons by our anniversary.
Reason 276...
You know how to be a real man.
It is a difficult thing to be a "real" man. In this day and age there are so many distractions and opportunities to NOT be a good person. But I think more than anything, it takes a good woman to be a real man. And I have the best.
Reason 280...
Your charm and charisma.
Most people would be put off by my "charm". But my wife isn't. I do tend to turn it on for her. Afterall, I'm usually trying to get with her. What other way than to be charming to the girl who has a crush on you. I'm so charming to my wife cause she has what I need.
Reason 264...
You are a gentleman.
It feels like many men don't know how to do this. I wouldn't know myself if it wasn't for my dad and grandfathers. I owe most all of it to them. And I am thankful they were such great shining examples for me, because it got me the greatest reward I could have asked for: my wife.

Reason 287, 278, 57, 75
Reason 287...
You're my husbandt.
There's this thing in Pittsburgh, maybe other places too, where because of the accent or something else, many people say "husbandt" instead of "husband". Pittsburgh is home to many of these quirks. It's home to my wife, and she's one of those quirks. This pronunciation is ingrained in her. I think it's both cute and a little maddening. But more important than anything, "husbandt" mean husband. And she's my wife.
Reason 278...
You were my grade school crush.
I've covered this before but I think it's important to really reflect on this at times. My wife has liked me since she was a little girl. How amazing is this!? I am very lucky to have a woman who loves me and has a history with me that goes back so far. Even though we were apart for so long, we shared so many experiences together that our bond is stronger than anyone I've ever met.
Reason 57...
How I've loved you since grade school.
How about that? Pure luck. She may not believe me, but I thought she was cute.
Reason 75...
Our move to Houston.
This was a leap of faith on her part. She moved her daughter and herself down to Houston after a year of dating long distance. We spent as much time together prior to that but it was still limited. She knew from the start that she wanted to be with me for the rest of her life. I took a chance too but I knew that I loved her and I was willing to bring her daughter in as mine. It paid off big time. I couldn't see myself without her.

Reason 94, 44, 256, 263, 89, 58
Reason 94...
The feeling of security.
I hate to sound like a broken record, so I'll keep this short. The fact that my wife feels secure means that I'm doing right as a man and father. She is the woman who I've built my life with and I would have it no other way. She's the best partner I could ask for.
Reason 44...
Because you love me with your whole heart.
The only way to be in a marriage, is to love the other person above yourself. All the time. No exclusions. This means with your whole heart and in all of its places. It is so easy for me to do this with my wife because she feels the same way. I've never felt the way I do about my wife with any other woman. I was lucky enough to have found her.
Reason 256...
I can always count on you.
Again, this speaks to the security, rock, and many other reasons. If my wife needs something, be it material or emotional, I try my best to be there for her. And truly, she can always count on me. I'd fly around the world twice to make her whole. Or drive out in a horrible snowstorm to buy her applesauce.
Reason 263...
You know my story.
Part of a strong relationship is knowing how you got there. My wife and I know pretty much everything about each other. And because of that our bond is very strong. I know the mistakes she's made and I know she won't make them again. Same goes for me. Another side effect of this all is that we have faith in the other person to do the right thing. And that's what I always want to do for my wife. The right thing.
Reason 89...
How happy you are.
One way to go through life is to be cynical. I do that often. Complaining, bitching, especially when I'm driving. But one thing I make sure of is to be happy, regardless of what's bothering me. I think it rubs off on my children and wife. My dad and mom are pretty much happy all the time and I think it's infectious. Why be sad when you can be happy. I want my wife to feel my happiness and be as happy as I can. And when I see her smile, it makes me happier. Happy Happy Happy! Recursive Happiness!
Reason 58...
How sweet you are.
Uhhh, I think if there's one thing she could complain about it's that I'm not the sweetest. I don't usually give her flowers or do sweet nothings things. But I love her. And maybe that's enough. She's the sweet one.
The feeling of security.
I hate to sound like a broken record, so I'll keep this short. The fact that my wife feels secure means that I'm doing right as a man and father. She is the woman who I've built my life with and I would have it no other way. She's the best partner I could ask for.

Reason 104, 98, 48, 103, 24, 25
Reason 104...
The way you put my feelings first.
This is a slight fib, especially when Honest Jon is in the room. But I do try to keep how my wife would feel in mind. I especially do so in important matters close to her heart, or when something may cut too deep. I try hard to look after her in all that she does. I know she does the same for me.
Reason 98...
You are my rock.
A little play on a previous reason and I may just repeat myself again. My main job in life is to provide and look after my family. This is why my wife can depend on me no matter what. I love that she has faith in me enough to make a statement like this. Whether she knows it or not, she's my center. I depend on her more than she knows.
Reason 48...
How you understand me.
It took some time, but I have my wife generally figured out. The good and the bad. We took the time early on to get to know each other and at this point of our lives it did us both a whole lot of good, and not in a sarcastic way. As partners, we don't need to speak much to know what the other is thinking. I believe a solid understanding is a vital foundation to any good marriage. I love my wife for opening up to me enough such that I could understand her as much as I do myself.
Reason 103...
How you come up behind me.
Naughty! When I come up behind my wife it's usually for one of two reasons: to scare her or to kiss her on the neck...let her know I want her. I'm sure she's talking about the latter.
Reason 24...
The way you look at me.
Reason 91 is far too similar! Those little looks you give. I look at my wife with love. She inspires me and amazes me, especially when she sacrifices her comfort, personal space and sleep for our children. I've told her before, I don't know how she does it. She's better than I.
Reason 25...
How you still give me butterflies.
We first met in grade school, as I'm sure I've explained. My wife had a crush on me and I never knew it. She tells me that she still feels those girly feeling often, especially during relations! I think it's cute and it makes me love her even more. It is an amazing feeling to be loved by a woman who truly, deeply loves you and always will. It is one of the greatest things in the world. I hope she knows I feel the same way about her.

Reason 36, 34, 269, 110, 62, 55
Reason 36...
The fact that you compliment me.
This is a given, right? I compliment my wife because she deserves all those that I give her. She's beautiful, funny and the mother of my children...how more awesome can she get! I love that my wife takes my compliments instead of brushing them off.
Reason 34...
The way you kiss me.
Repeat! I think I get how she did this...she repeated herself a bunch of times! Haha. That or she just really love kissing me. Hell, I love kissing her.
Reason 269...
Your uncompromising belief in God, Family and Country.
This is true. I have my own opinions on religion, but God, Family and Country are pillars in my life. They are what hold me together. In fact, I wish more people held those in high regard. They cement all the other things in life together and pave a path forward onto morality. I love that my wife wrote this about me. That she understands these things is why I know she's my forever.
Reason 110...
For being a good person.
I only try. I'm not as good as I should be or could be. But each day I try harder to be better for my family. As a man, I owe my family my best, not my good. I love that my wife recognizes this about me and lifts me up so that it's not as hard as it may be. She's my partner in all that I do.
Reason 62...
Your singing.
I think this may be a repeat too, but I can't remember. My singing comes most likely from church. Not in the way that's usually mentioned but just from the awesome church songs I grew up on. At least that's what I think. My dad would always sing with us in church and my mother would too. Since my Dad is a weirdo like me, we'd sing most of the time around the house too. I do that now and so does my daughter. What I love about my wife is that she tries to sing. I'll admit, she doesn't have a good voice, but you better believe that if our daughter asks for a song, she's marching up those steps to sing to her.
Reason 55...
You are my soulmate.
I've mentioned this before I believe, but I feel the same way about my wife. I think she is exactly what I need and our relationship is exactly what we need for each other. I don't know what I'd do without her. And I think she feels the same way. This realization occurred early in our relationship and it has never faded.

Reason 99, 100, 126, 148, 51, 149
Reason 99...
The way you will never intentionally hurt me.
My wife has been intentionally hurt most of her life. She grew up with bad people and in turn surrounded herself with more. It is one of my personal goals to never do the same. She deserves that and deserves to know that she is better than that. I don't ever want her to feel hurt like she has in the past ever again and I will do all that I can to make sure that she doesn't...at my hands or another's.
Reason 100...
How patient you are.
She made this one up. One of my major failings is my lack of patience. I just, tonight had to reign myself in while doing homework with my daughter. She has autism and math is particularly hard for her. Not so much the mechanics of it but the fact that it's not something that comes to her automatically. She has patience issues too! I love that she inspires me to have more patience. I wish I could be better at it, because she needs inspiration to be more patient too. We are, all of us, in this together.
Reason 126...
The way you kiss me when I hurt.
As I've said before, my wife has been hurt in the past. When those things haunt her in the present my sole reason for being is to make her feel at home and safe. It's that simple. She must know that I'm going to always be there for her.
Reason 148...
Saying that you love me every day!
I love you!
Reason 51...
When I am with you the whole world stops.
I feel that same about my wife. Not in the romantic sense, but in the sense that when I'm with her and my family, nothing else really matters. Perhaps that IS the romantic sense. I'm whole when I'm with them. And I pray they truly feel the same way about me. Our family is all I need in this world.
Reason 149...
When you rub me when I hurt.
I'm not the most compassionate man on the planet, I must admit. I kind of a dick when my wife is sick. I don't know why but maybe it has to do with the fact that I don't WANT her to be sick...I want her to feel good all the time. So it's generally misplaced. But on the occasion that she's hurt and needs a good rub, I'll rub as much as she needs. She does the same for me...until she finds a skin aberration to pick. Gross!

Reason 91, 254, 32, 86, 88, 120
Reason 91...
Those little looks you give me.
I give my wife many different looks. Funny, serious, inquisitive, lusty. I'm not sure which she's talking about, but I love that she pays attention. Because I pay attention to her, sneak a look here and there, and will never get tired of it.
Reason 254...
You never stop courting me.
If a marriage is to succeed, both parties need to feel loved and wanted. That's a simple truth. I'll always court my wife, always look for her attention. She deserves to know that I love her today more than yesterday and will always continue.
Reason 32...
You make me laugh even if you aren't around.
Lasting effects. That's pretty awesome. As much as I make her laugh, she makes me smile when she's not around. I should do more to let her know that there isn't an hour that passes by that I'm not thinking about her fondly.
Reason 86...
You sense of humor.
You have to be able to laugh to live. I think that's pretty accurate. Apparently my wife thinks that too as many of these reasons have something to do with laughter or general funniness. I love that I can laugh with my wife, even if her sense of humor is a bit odd!
Reason 88...
The sound of your voice.
I don't sound all that special. I don't have a very deep voice or a particularly sexy one. But I guess my wife likes it. I'm drawing a blank on this one though. We spent many hours on the phone in the beginning of our relationship so perhaps that's where this comes from. What I love about the sound of my wife's voice is that I don't have to rely on a telephone to hear it anymore. And I never will.
Reason 120...
The way you inspire me.
I think another important part of a marriage is mutual inspiration. I try to build my wife up and let her know she's important. I ensure her she has skills that are awesome and abilities that she should be proud of. And she inspires me to do the best I can for my family. Our give and take is integral to our relationship and I'd not rather do it with anyone else.

Reason 174, 289, 67, 134, 37, 68
Reason 174...
The way you make me laugh even when I'm mad at you.
When we fight, as is cliche, my wife tends to get mad at me even when I'm the one who should be mad. That's just life with the fairer sex. I don't care if that's sexist, it's the truth. While my wife would like to stay mad, I don't usually dwell on arguments, as most of our arguments are over small things. We mesh well on the things that really matter. I love that my wife laughs at/with me. It makes things a whole lot easier.
Reason 289...
You don't care what others think of you.
This is generally true. There was a time in my life when I did care what other thought of me. I don't mean professionally, but personally. I'd like to think I've grown up enough that the other stuff just doesn't matter. If someone wants to think I'm a weirdo because I'll chase my daughter through the mall or sing to my son while shopping, then so be it. I'm not doing it for them. I'm doing it for my family. Same goes with my opinions. I'm pretty open-minded in the sense that I like to learn and more importantly, understand. Once I've understood, I've formed an opinion. If others think I'm an ass, then in my eyes they don't understand. I love my wife for, at some level, understanding this about me. For knowing that my "not caring" isn't some macho bravado thing, but confidence in who I am and what I stand for.
Reason 67...
How I can be a weirdy and you don't make fun.
I wish my wife would be a weirdy more often. She thinks that I'll make fun...but I won't. I'm the weirdest person she's ever met, I'm sure of it. Most anything she does isn't going to shock me or think she's a weirdo. She should feel comfortable at all times when she's with me and I hope she truly understands that. Love is a weirdy. That's for sure.
Reason 134...
You love me despite my flaws.
Repeat. I love my wife for who she is, flaws and all. No matter what. I'm far from perfect. I owe her that.
Reason 37...
The way you warm my hands or feet when I am cold.
My number one job, as I've said before, is to be a provider and protector to my family. I take both of these seriously. While warming my wife's hands or feet doesn't sound like much, it's the reason behind it that matters. I do those things because I want my wife to know that I'd give myself for her. I expect the same from her. Loving someone beyond yourself is the only way for a marriage or relationship to work. I'll warm my wife's hands and feet for the rest of her life, until the warmth has gone out from my own.
Reason 68...
Your endless knowledge about everything.
It's certainly not endless. But I will say, I find it necessary to know at least a little bit about most everything. Mechanics, engines, welding, geography, current affairs and most importantly how stuff works. I could watch that show non-stop. I think knowing at least a little about a lot broadens the scope in which you can carry on a conversation and more importantly understand other subjects. One can't understand an internal combustion engine and not know anything about spark. I love that my wife finds this sexy, as she's told me. It shows me that she appreciates the care I take in understanding. She's no slouch either.

Reason 81, 108, 141, 43, 87
Reason 81...
Your good morning calls.
I usually call my wife around 0830 to 0930 every morning from work. Just to check in, make sure the girl got to school alright and to see how she and my son are doing. I usually also sneak in some "instructions" for the day. Sometimes I think she dreads the call, but apparently she doesn't. at least not all the time. I love calling my wife to see how she's doing. I miss her each day I go to work. And I miss my kids too. That's why I call so much really.
Reason 108...
Your kind soul.
I once got mad at my wife for giving away my delicious leftovers to a homeless person. I felt like an ass afterwards. I'm not always the nicest, but I do try to be a good person. We teach our kids that everyone is born different, some people are less fortunate than us, some people are more fortunate, some people look different, some people have trouble learning. I don't know if my wife is talking about this specifically, but those are the things that come to mind. And I'm generally nice to animals I guess. I love that my wife gave that homeless guy my food. She's far kinder than I could hope for.
Reason 141...
You love me for me.
I'm starting to see a pattern in these reasons. My wife loves me for the love that I give her. Well, I'll be doing that for the rest of my life. So I hope that every day she wakes up (probably next to a kid) she knows that I love her and will forever.
Reason 43...
The way I can't picture our life without you.
Almost 6 years ago I re-met my wife and everything changed. I was introduced to her daughter who also changed my life too. At this point I can't, like my wife, imagine my life without them. I don't even want to think about my life without them. I love my wife for making those thoughts, of my life years beyond, only good.
Reason 87...
The way you talk to me.
I have to admit that I'm very very far from perfect. Sometimes I think often of the way I've talked to my wife the day before and think of what an asshole I was. And I try each and every day to respect her, love her and show her my appreciation more. I don't always do it, but I try. I think that's why she loves the way I talk to her. Perhaps she knows I try.

Reason 271...
The annoying fact you are right 90% of the time.
So is this something she loves about me? Orrrrrrrrrrr.....
Like I said before, my brother and I have a little running joke about my wife and her ability to surprise us with knowledge bombs that we think she's bullshitting us on. It's pretty amazing. Not 90% amazing, but still...
Reason 101...
You are the last person I want to see before falling asleep.
This was obviously written before my son was born cause my wife rarely sees me before she falls asleep. It's usually a tiny sleeping boy. She has co-slept with him since he was born and now he's a little over a year old. We get him to sleep in his crib about two times a week. We're trying to break him of the habit, but sometimes it's just easier. I look forward to being the last person she sees before she falls asleep again.
Reason 129...
You tell me the truth.
Apparently the truth is a big deal. This is like the third or fourth reason about me telling the truth. Well, thanks. I love my wife for thinking the truth is as big a deal as it is.
Reason 272...
The way you make me feel about myself.
My wife has low self esteem, but I think it gets better everyday. I wouldn't be a good husband or father for that matter if I didn't try my hardest to elevate my husband. I love that she is feeling better about herself. It makes me feel good that my wife feels good.
Reason 29...
You make me feel special.
Ditto! I didn't plan this as I pull them out of the jar randomly. We're mean to be.
Reason 102...
You are the first person I want to see when I wake up.
Two "doubles" in a row. She sees my son when she first wakes up. As a matter of fact, he's the one who usually wakes her up...looking for a boob. I'll say it again, I look forward to waking up with her soon.
The annoying fact you are right 90% of the time.

Reason 22, 72, 112, 246, 121, 139
Reason 22...
The way you tell me you love me.
I grew up in a house where "I love you" was commonplace. And it never lost it's meaning, like repetition sometimes causes. We meant it each and every time we said it. I don't think that really happened in my wife's family. So, not only because of that, I tell my wife I love her as often as I can. Each time I hang up a phone conversation, at bedtime, just because, when I leave for work and she's awake. I mean it each and every time I say it. And I will for the rest of my life.
Reason 72...
Your morals.
This is easy. I derived my morals from my parents and from going to Mass. It's that simple. My parents took us to church, taught us how to be good people, to treat others with respect. I like to think my life likes my morals because she has the same ones as I do, in general. Her upbringing was different than mine, however she has the same morals as I do. That's what I love about her. We never fight over moralistic things. It's easy being in love with her because of this.
Reason 112...
For letting me tease you.
There's a lot of teasing that happens in this house. I'm the main teaser, so I am slightly worse at getting teased than everyone else...that's just how nature works, isn't it. I love the relationship we have and how it centers on fun in life. My wife teases me, but I think she feels bad about it sometimes.
Reason 246...
You are going/are loving this gift.
That's the truth. I couldn't believe she did it. It still amazes me. The time this must have taken for her to hand write these little notes. Blows my mind. I'm trying hard to stay on track to get these all written out by our second anniversary. I know she is going to love this too. That's what keeps me going.
Reason 121...
I will love you for the rest of my life.
Not really a reason, but I do know this: I will love my wife for the rest of my life. Maybe that is a reason. Knowing that, and being secure in it is kind of like a trait in the other person when you think about it.
Reason 139...
You're the best I'll ever have.
I try my hardest to be the best for my family. I don't do a fantastic job at it. But I hope my wife and children realize that I DO try. I love my wife for recognizing this in me. Because I recognize that she's the best I could ever hope for.

Reason 125, 26, 106, 255, 109, 163
Reason 125...
When you kiss my forehead.
I suppose I need to do this more often as I had no idea this meant anything to her. I don't do it very much and for no specific reason, but if it pleases my wife and it's something she likes about me, then it's worth my time to do it. Because that's part of what loving is.
Reason 26...
How cute you are.
Come on now. We've covered this. I'm not that cute. I was a cute little boy, that's for sure. Almost as cute as our son, but now...ask my brother or my Dad...I'm not cute. What lottery must I have hit to have a wife that actually thinks this about me? Who knows! But I am lucky to have hit it, that's for sure. I love how cute my wife is, just as cute as she was in grade school. Especially when she gets huffy.
Reason 106...
The way you help me around the house.
Most Saturday mornings I'll get up and clean the kitchen. Do the dishes, wash the counters and make sure everything is straight. I sweep, take out the garbage, fix the broken things, hang the pictures, etc etc. If my wife needs help, I try to help. But I'll be honest here, housework is a major contention in our family. I don't fully appreciate or agree with the amount she does. And that's something I need to work on. And I promise here, to my wife, to do that.
Reason 255...
I am just an ordinary girl but you treat me extraordinarily.
My wife is anything but ordinary. Both good and bad. She deserves to be treated extraordinarily. I hope as we move along in this life and marriage she begins to think of herself as extraordinary instead of ordinary. She amazes me often and I am thankful that she appreciates how I treat her. She's my extraordinary wife. My love.
Reason 109...
For always listening to me.
I've not done as well on this lately as I could have. My wife is home all day with a toddler, and then a cranky eight year old. She doesn't get to socialize as much with regular humans as much as she would like and sometimes when I get home from work I don't want to talk. I just want to be around my family. I need to do more to make this as true a statement as it can be. It's hard sometimes listening about something that happened on Facebook or a news story I have no interest in, but she deserves my attention as often as I can give it to her.
Reason 163...
I thank God everyday for you.
And I thank God everyday for you, my daughter and my son. Our family is what keeps my spirit alive. I'm not sure what I was doing before they came into my life. But I know now when I am meant to do with my life. And my wife is a big part of that.
When you kiss my forehead.

Reason 41, 76, 131, 117, 127, 145
Reason 41...
How you called me "C...K..." although it drives me nuts!
I used to call my wife, before we were married by my full name most of the time. I did it mainly because it drove her nuts. But I'll tell you what, I don't do it anymore. She's my wife now and she has my last name. And she will always be Mrs. Y. And I couldn't love that more!
Reason 76...
Our move back home.
This is a fib. Most likely. I know my wife loved it in Houston. She moved down there with our daughter to be with me. Our relationship was very good, but it was separated by 1400 miles. And we loved each other very much. So after only a year, she decided she wanted to move in with me, uproot her life and make the bold move away from home. Home to her was urban city life. Not a great family and not much to do. In Houston, I taught her to drive, expanded her range and sort of gave her a new life. And in another year that all changed. We (more me than we) decided we wanted to move back home to Pittsburgh. I know it wasn't easy for her. But she came with me. I had plans on marrying her and having children and I didn't want to do that so far away from my family (and now her family). So we moved back home. I'm glad we did on many levels, but I'm mostly glad that she came with me. She's in this for life. And that makes me happier than I can explain.
Reason 131...
You're always honest even if it hurts.
Hey now, that's Honest Jon for ya. I'm not always honest, but I try to be as honest as possible when it comes to important issues. We have a lot of important issues in our life. My wife's family isn't the best and we've dealt with a lot in that regard. I am always honest. And sometimes that's hurts her feelings but I know that I wouldn't be doing what's best for her if I just told her what she wanted to hear. Many people can't deal with that. Or won't deal with that. I love my wife because she respects my honesty and seems to actually think it's a positive thing.
Reason 117...
That mischievous look you get.
I can be a jester at times I suppose. And perhaps I even have a face that goes along with it. I think my son makes the same face. It's a tell. She's got me figured out. I love the fun my wife and I have. I wouldn't want to be walking this world with anyone else, mischievous or not.
Reason 127...
How understanding you are.
I've had to deal with a lot of stress related to my wife's family and our daughter's biological dad. From big blow ups to spiteful "adults" I've seen it all within the last six years. It's been a battle. Although sometimes I just want to turn it all off and walk away for a while, the love I have for my wife and our daughter makes that feeling instantly vanish. She's found it in her heart to open up to me the deepest problems and faults she has inside her heart and the least I can do is be there, understand and try to help. I love her because I know she would do the same for me with no hesitation. We're a team. She's my partner.
Reason 145...
I want to do you!
Hey now. Not much needs to be said about this one. Let's get it on! I want to do you too!

Reason 145...
I want to do you!
Hey now. Not much needs to be said about this one. Let's get it on! I want to do you too!
Reason 243, 45, 33, 9, 165, 150
In the interest of getting this done before our anniversary, I'm going to begrudgingly stop taking pictures of the reasons and just type them out. I've done the math. I need to do 17 a day, every day until our anniversary. I can do this. For my wife!
Reason 243...
You do things to make me happy.
Oh and I do many things to make my wife not happy. I am grateful that she doesn't dwell on those though! I just recently "let" her buy 10 magic skirts that she really wanted. She gets excited over things like that because she never really goes shopping for herself. I guess this is what she's talking about in part, but I'm sure it's deeper than that. Maybe I'm hitting writer's block. My wife deserves to be happy. On every level, every day. I know I fail to do everything I can to make that possible but I try. And she's obviously ok with that.
Reason 45...
The way you smell.
Ahhhhh, Old Spice High Endurance Original...THANK YOU! My wife (and my daughter) love the way I smell. My Dad thinks it's disgusting. But sometimes I'll catch my wife giving me a hug and secretly trying to smell me too. I tell her it's the mix of my deodorant and my natural manly musk. I'm not sure what it is, but it works! I don't think she'd like me if I wore other deodorant to be honest...which is fine with me because I love old spice original. So, that's another reason why I love her. She likes my sexy, manly pit smell. She doesn't smell bad herself.
Reason 33...
How I see you in our children.
I spend as much time as I can with my kids. My Dad was the same way. So I guess I get it from him. I also think that kids need to see grownups, especially their parents act like children sometimes. See them having fun and being goofy. After all, I wouldn't want to constantly be reminded how hard and tiring it is to be an adult sometimes. So I whistle, I sing and I make funny noises. My daughter does the same. She sings, I taught her how to whistle and she has a lot of my personality. My son is slowly coming around for a year old boy. He'll be whistling in no time. I think the circle comes back to my wife though. She makes me very comfortable. Enough that I don't give it a second thought walking around the house singing or making funny noises to make my kids laugh. She's my manager. I couldn't, or perhaps wouldn't feel comfortable if she didn't accept me for me. And that's something I'll always appreciate in her.
Reason 9...
The way you kiss me.
I'd like to think my wife and I are passionate beings. We don't always kiss, but when we do it's pretty awesome. I know just where to kiss my wife to make her think about me until the kids go the hell to sleep. I think we're very compatible in that way...we love each other, not just mentally but physically. I've never had such a complete love with another person as I do with my wife and I'm seriously thankful for what she has brought to my life in those regards.
Reason 165...
The way you sing to me.
A few people have told me that I should try out for the voice. My wife mentions it every few weeks. But I just like to sing. Whether it's some old Incubus or "O sole mio" I could sing for days. Sometimes I sing for my wife and thankfully for us both she enjoys it. Sometimes I sing to aggravate her, but maybe I'm really doing it to impress her. She's my number one audience and if it wasn't for her "support" I certainly wouldn't be as happy as I am. I love that she's on my side, always ready to cheer me on or bring me up. I should do more of that for her because she's the last woman I'll ever love as my wife.
Reason 150...
You are the best.
I've seen a few of these "reasons" before and I like to think of them as "filler" reasons. Maybe she hit a roadblock. Frankly I don't know how she did this in the first place. It is a herculean effort to sit down and rake over your life like she did. So really, wife, you're the best.
Reason 243...

Reason 252, 130, 64, 78
Reason 252...
I knew I wanted to get married in the Maronite Church (Catholic). My wife and I went to the same grade school when we were younger and it was Catholic. I don't think she was ever really made to go to church though. I was, until I was probably 16 or 17. I've always liked church, even though it is sometimes a pain to go to. I don't know if she felt that same way. I knew she was religious, but she had some bad experiences with the stiff nature of the Catholic church that just didn't sit well with her and I think the way was lost a bit. Once we met with the Maronite Priest, I think everything changed. We started going to mass somewhat regularly and enrolled our Daughter in CCD there. It keeps us balanced. It gives us a time to reflect and love. I didn't restore her faith. God did. He led us, in his own way, back to church. I'm infinitely thankful that my wife's heart was open to God. I had very little to do with it.
Reason 130...
I look out for my wife. I know when she's not feeling good about something or when she's anxious. So I do what a good husband should do and say what need said. Sometimes it's Honest Jon saying it and hell, sometimes it's even Carl. But because I love her so much, it's not very hard to do. I speak from my heart. And because we're one, I think it hits hers just the right way. I wouldn't want it any different.
Reason 64...
I didn't give my wife our Daughter Alivia. But I did bring her into my life as my own. It was easy. She's probably the most amazing, funny and special person I've ever met. She surprises me every single day I spend with her. She makes me laugh, she makes me think about the world differently and she can always make my day better than it was. I wouldn't have her in my life, one that she so fully transformed, without my wife. And that, ultimately maybe, why I love her so much.
Reason 78...
We bought our house, retrospectively for some good reasons and some not so good ones. It's on an acre in a good school district, has a pool and has plenty of play room for the kids. The house is small though. And for what we spent, we could have gotten something bigger. We also got a detached four car garage with a loft and a basement...how could I pass that up!!! I think one thing that really has changed us though, is the yard. It introduced my wife to gardening again. To getting dirty outside. Playing in the grass, growing food for our family. We like to call it our farm. Even though my wife was a "city girl" she has made an amazing transformation and in many ways is a "country girl" living in the suburbs. It's our own slice of the world that we've made our own. I wouldn't have it any other way...except for maybe a bigger house! I love that she went on this journey with me. We weren't even married when I bought it. But she knew. She knew this is where we'd raise our family, where we'd be celebrating our anniversaries for years to come.

Reason 14...
We did! And hopefully I'm going to have this blog done for our second anniversary. I may be running out of time, but I'm going to try my hardest.
It is beyond all odds that we got married. I love that we did. Simple as that.
Reason 40...
It's true. My wife is perfect just that way that she is. Sure, everyone can elevate themselves. Work on their fears, their insecurities, the things they know are wrong. But without someone to accept those things the way they are, it's a very tall mountain to climb. I'm so far from perfect it's not even funny. But I think my wife loves me just the way I am too. And for that I'm very, very thankful. Cause I don't know if there's anyone else out there who would.
Reason 209...
I tell my wife this often. We make a great team. And we do. We sacrifice separately the things we must for the good of the team. I think that's what love is. Sacrificing for the good of the team. For the good of the other person and your family. We both do that. We make a good team.
Reason 144...
Pshhhh. Hardly. I don't fully understand what my wife sees in my physically. I'm overweight and I don't think I'm that cute. I think it helps that she still thinks of me as the boy she had a crush on in grade school. Actually, that may be my only saving grace. She on the other hand IS hot. And I'm glad to have her as my wife! She's a damn good cook too!

Reason 158, 124, 16, 172, 159
Reason 158...
I certainly do not always appreciate my wife. I bitch about the house not being clean. The laundry not being done. The floor not swept. We fight and argue about it. We get over it. Repeat. But there are times when I need to sit back and reflect about what she does. How she does it and why she does it. I do appreciate her. And I should do more to show it. I love her, because she's WORTH appreciating. And she deserves to know it more often.
Reason 124...
My wife can be grumpy. She has her times. Sometimes she can be hard to "get along with". But I always do it. Because I love her. I'm more easy going, at the core, than she is and it's easier for me to let go of things. But let me tell you this, it's amazing that she even stays in the house when I'M grumpy. It's a miracle I think.
Reason 16...
I'm not mad, I'm passionate. I say that often, because I'm often passionate about things. I like to think it's the Lebanese and Italian in my blood, but mostly it's because I'm kind of an ass. I'm passionate about my opinions, my political stances, my social stances...but most of all, I think, I'm passionate about my family. About my wife and kids. And if my wife realizes that about me, then I think I'm doing my job. She makes it easy to be passionate about the life we've created. And I don't think I'll ever lose that passion. Especially for her.
Reason 172...
Hey, we all have our faults. I had to basically force my wife to learn how to drive. She's basically afraid to stand on the bed to turn the fan light out. She's overly anxious and dwells on the past too much. But, I'd have to start a whole new blog and max out my Google drive if I wrote about my faults. Somehow she overlooks them. And that's why I love her.
Reason 159...
Honest Jon is probably my favorite guy. He's me, but totally honest. I usually announce when Honest Jon is going to make an appearance. Although he's honest, he is most likely going to sound like an asshole. It's amazing to me that my wife even let's Honest Jon in the house. But she must appreciate something about him. In this day and age of narcissism and "everybody gets a trophy," honesty is kind of hard to come by. I'm very thankful of the fact that my wife tolerates Honest Jon. Cause that guy's a dick.

Reason 7...
I went to school to be an Electrical Engineer. I graduated from Penn State with that degree. But that doesn't make me smart, and it doesn't mean much without someone to share a life with. I know my wife doesn't think I'm smart ALL the time, but it means a lot to me that she thinks I'm smart...most of the time. My wife may not be "my" kind of smart, but she surprises me all the time. There's a running joke I have with my brother that we both contradict my wife when she makes claims we both think she doesn't know anything about. Because when we whip out the Google...she's right most of the damn time. I love my wife because SHE'S smart, even if she doesn't think that's the case.
Reason 8...
I wasn't fully prepared for my son. We had everything we needed. Crib, breast pump, special pillows, diapers, etc. But I still wasn't fully prepared for him. I love him so much it's hard for me to understand what my life means without him in it. He's a perfect little miracle full of curiosity, love and joy and he scares me. I think about him constantly. And my wife...she's the one who made him with me. What can possibly be a greater manifestation of our love than a small, tiny baby that expands the love I thought I was capable of into something I truly can't even put into words. He's amazing. She's amazing. And that's why I love her.
Reason 84...
I'm sure I bring out the worst too. I'm sure I've said it before, but I'm not the easiest person to live with. She deals with it in stride. My Dad can't believe she puts up with me (jokingly I think). I think a perfect, or near perfect union, is one in which a the two become a unit, bringing out the best and doing the best for each other. We try our hardest to do that. And I couldn't bring out the best in her if she didn't love me the way she does. And I her.
Reason 79...
When I was young my dad used to do a character he called Eddie. He used to drive a school bus and even drove the Space Shuttle. He had a crush on my mom and was a little...weird. I think I created Carl in his likeness. He has a crush on My wife too. He does nice things for her. He's a good guy. Just a little misunderstood.
Reason 128...
Mr. Provider! I mentioned before that my Dad used to refer to himself as Mr. Provider. Usually when he did something small and was thanked for it. I'm doing for my family what he did for his, and what his Dad did for his. And what my Pap Pap Dick did for his. It's what we do. It's natural. And it's the best job in the world. I wouldn't want to do it for anyone else in the whole world.

Reasons 151, 156, 6, 38, 137...
I've been a terrible gift receiver. I started this blog with all the intentions of the world to give it to my wife on our second anniversary with 365 posts...each with a picture of the "Reason" and an small explanation. Well...she found the blog early on. So I stopped doing it, as it just ruined the surprise. And it was difficult to find time every day to sit down, take a picture of the "Reason" in a cool location and write something thoughtful about it. So I stopped. But recently I decided enough time has passed and I've felt bad about it long enough that I need to start it back up again. Although I won't be doing a post for each reason, I will try to write down the ones I haven't photographed and recount them here. I have about 20-30 more photos and a whole bunch of "Reasons" to do before our anniversary on October 11th. I hope I can make it...
Reason 151...
Many people have an illusion that you should always be loyal to family, no mater what the circumstances are. I don't necessarily agree with that. There are those in your life who will love you and will have your best intentions in mind. Those are the people that deserve your loyalty, and who deserve just as much love as they give you. My wife deserves my loyalty. And that's why I stick with her in nearly everything we deal with, and always will. We're a team. She's my partner.
Reason 156...
We got into a fight yesterday. Screaming, arguing, accusing...that kind of thing. My wife told me not to speak to her for the rest of the day. She was mad, I was mad. At around 2130, I was making us both late night blueberry pancakes. That's really what getting along is all about, especially in a marriage. We will never agree on everything. We will often have arguments about stuff around the house getting done, etc, etc. But we will always get along. In the end, we will move past it, and eat blueberry pancakes together.
Reason 6...
I decided early on in our relationship to end it. I wasn't very comfortable having a long distance relationship with a woman who had a child of 2.5 years. I didn't think it was especially fair to the child. Although I was pretty set to break up with my (now) wife, it didn't end that way. And thank God that it didn't. She thinks I've changed her and our daughter's lives, and I know that I have, but she forgets that her and our Daughter changed my life too. Sometimes even more drastically. And what a thing to find love in.
Reason 38...
I don't know what to say about this one. I know what she means though. When I'm not with my wife, I want to be with her. When I was in Amsterdam on a business trip, the only thin I could think about was how much better it would be if she was there with me. She's my partner. And I feel better when I hear her voice too.
Reason 137...
I'll admit it. I'm a better problem solver than my wife. But what this really means to me is that she has faith in me. She has faith that I'll do the right thing. That I'll get it right for my family. Even in the small things. That's a big responsibility, but it is also one of the best feelings in the world. I love my wife for the faith she has in me, as a problem solver, husband and father.

Reason 142...
I've said this before, but my wife and I met in Third Grade. But the story of our actual relationship started as adults. On Facebook. Which is ridiculous. It was a not so normal start to a long life together that involved some not so normal relationshipping, like long distance, a step-daughter, a not so ideal living situation for my wife. Nothing is normal. We're not normal. And that's good.
Reason 3...
The number one thing I have to do in life is be a good Dad. Next comes husband. But being a good Dad is probably harder. I've had many, many excellent examples of great Dads in my life that I'd have to be a degenerate to not "get" it. But one thing that's often overlooked about being a "great" Dad is that it's pretty hard to do without a great Mom. And that's why I love my wife.
I will say, it makes me happy that this was Reason 3...obviously it was on her mind.
I will say, it makes me happy that this was Reason 3...obviously it was on her mind.
Reason 171...
We all have a past I suppose. My wife has more...interesting past than I do. As a shallow man of this generation, I could totally hold it against her. But that's not how I see things. She's taken a chance on me, from a thousand miles away, so it's only fair that I do the same. She deserves it. Her past isn't why I love her, it's her present and her capacity to love me that gets us through.
Reason 135...
I'll be honest. I'm not entirely sure what my wife's favorite flower is. I think I might have bought her a little arrangement when our son was born...but I don't remember what the flowers were. I have a terrible memory. And she very rarely gets flowers. I've never been a flowers guy. And yet...she's still here. She gets it. I love it when she brings me my favorite dinner :)
Reason 17...
One of the classical jobs of a husband is to provide for his family. To make sure his kids are fed, clothed and most importantly loved. The same goes for his wife. I like to think that I'm a pretty good provider. My dad used to call himself jokingly the "Mr. Provider" especially whenever he'd do something small and we would thank him for it. I generally model my parenting/husbanding after my dad. I'm not sure my wife appreciates that all the time, but one of the things I think my dad did was to make sure we never knew there was anything wrong. I very rarely had a feeling like we were poor or didn't have a lot of money. I try to keep that the same for my family. When I know money is tight or we need to reel in our spending, my wife understands that and knows everything will be ok. That puts an enormous amount of stress on the "provider", but I wouldn't want to do it with anyone else. My wife makes much of that "providing" possible, regardless of how she feels about not working or making money. And I know this isn't all about money, it's about the various other things we worry about. But in the end, everything IS going to be OK. Because we love each other. That's, cliche-ly, all that genuinely matters.

Reason 122...
November 24th, 2014
My wife and I had a little bit of a rocky start. It was a long distance relationship and near the beginning I didn't think it would work out. She had a daughter, and I didn't think it would be fair to her that we stay a couple with such great distance between us. She kept after me. And that's why I love her too. She's the one that didn't give up on me. And now look at us...
